Mulenga Chanda

Mulenga Chanda is the CEO for Meard Sustainability Partners , Vice President of the Solar Industry Association of Zambia (SIAZ) and Country Director for Namene Solar Zambia. As a leader in Zambia’s renewable energy sector, he drives solar energy initiatives, overseeing large-scale solar light distribution and carbon projects under the Gold Standard. Mulenga combines technical expertise with strategic vision to advance green energy access. He has extensive experience in project management, policy advocacy, and partnerships, contributing to Zambia’s transition to sustainable energy solutions. At Meard Sustainability Partners, he champions innovative financing and ESG integration for renewable energy projects.
He brings extensive experience in driving solar energy adoption across the country, with a focus on last mile distribution of solar energy to hard-to-reach areas and both utility-scale solar projects and commercial and industrial (C&I) solutions.
Under his leadership, Namene Solar has implemented innovative strategies to increase solar energy access, particularly in rural and off-grid areas, contributing significantly to Zambia’s green energy transition. Mulenga plays a critical role in addressing regulatory and funding challenges that affect the growth of solar infrastructure in the region.
His commitment to sustainability extends beyond corporate leadership. He actively participates in industry discussions, policy advocacy, and the development of practical solutions to expand solar access and reduce Zambia’s carbon footprint.
