Joseph Nkrumah
Joseph Nkrumah is an accomplished engineer with over a decade of experience in the development and integration of solar (250MW ground mounted and 25MW floating), thermal, hydropower, and battery energy storage systems. As Manager at Bui Power Authority, he leads key initiatives advancing Ghana’s renewable energy agenda, including Africa’s first 250MW hydro-solar hybrid project.
He holds an MPIL in Renewable Energy Technologies and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), with specialized certifications from institutions in South Africa, China, and Europe.
His contributions span groundbreaking achievements such as Ghana’s first floating solar PV plant, large-scale solar installations across the country, and micro-hydro developments in remote communities. Joseph has earned recognition through awards including Solar Quarter’s Excellence in Engineering and Technology, and the 40 Under 40 in Solar Power Africa and Asia.
