Roula Inglesi-Lotz

Professor Roula Inglesi-Lotz is a professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Pretoria, specialising in energy and environmental economics.

With over 80 published academic papers, she is ranked among Africa’s top economists. Her research focuses on energy consumption, renewable energy solutions, and economic growth.

She has held leadership roles, including founding the South African Association for Energy Economics and serving as vice-president of the International Association for Energy Economics. Prof Inglesi-Lotz is also recognised for her work on energy transition and its role in South Africa’s economic recovery.
