Irshaad Wadvalla is the Head of Sustainability at Equites Property Fund, a specialised JSE-listed logistics REIT recognised for embedding long term sustainability at the heart of its business model. His transdisciplinary background spans social science, sustainable finance, and environmental engineering, enabling a systems based approach to climate resilience and water security. After starting his career with a socially responsible investment firm, Irshaad completed an MSc in Sustainable Development and Environmental Science through Uppsala University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, with research at BOKU University in Vienna on flood risk management and wastewater treatment. His academic and professional work has explored the integration of ESG principles within multinational supply chains, using the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Human Development Index as benchmarks for progress. At Equites, he leads initiatives in renewable energy, water stewardship, and climate aligned infrastructure, positioning sustainability as both a commercial advantage and a social imperative.
