Fanele Mondi is a seasoned leader with a strong background in business and energy management.

With qualifications in engineering, project management, and business leadership, Fanele has been at the helm of the Energy Intensive Users Group of Southern Africa (EIUG) as CEO since 2020. Under his leadership, EIUG advocates for the interests of large power users, influencing energy policies, just energy transition, and climate change initiatives in South Africa.

Before joining EIUG, Fanele dedicated over 23 years to Eskom, where he held senior management roles across the Generation, Distribution, and Corporate Divisions. His diverse experience also spans stakeholder management, policy evaluation, engineering, project management, compliance, and more, making him a key figure in the energy sector.
